It means we want to change the common perception of the metal trade industry i.e physical labour, male-dominated, traditional.

Working with students has been an important part of our vision as we want to bridge the gap between education and industry while providing a doorway to a real career in manufacturing and what it entails.

Internships and work experiences opportunities were initiated through Big Picture Education Australian and Liverpool Boys High. Our next step will be to explore SBAT and traditional work experience programs as a pathway to engaging with main stream education.

Working with Universities
University internships at LA Services foster a symbiotic relationship between the intern and the business. Yes, we do impart the necessary experience and skills to supplement the students’ education but students also add value back to the business through their skills and help us view things through a modern lens.

Working with Community
Our vision for the community is clear. We want to enrich the local community and bridge the gap in skills as we strive to combat the elusive Catch 22 : “You need experience to get a job but in order to get experience, you need to have a job.”
Canterbury Bankstown Chamber of Commerce
LA Services are a proud partner of the CBCC and together we aim to provide meaningful practical learning experiences to the community.
Bankstown Youth DEVELOPMENT SERVICE (OUTLOUD INC.)
We have planned to work closely with Finn Branagáin from Outloud and her team as we believe her life-changing work has a big place in LA Services as we strive to do as much good for the community like Finn.
JOB EXPOS
We have previously participated in the Bankstown Job and Skills Expo to show interested individuals that there are a variety of ways to enter the workforce as we strive to bridge the skill gap that is becoming more apparent.
Through our initial pledge to become a more progressive company, we were pleasantly surprised to have unlocked some of UN’s sustainable development goals without strategically planning for it. In creating our initiatives, the intention was not just to align with the UN, but rather to truly aim for sustainable social innovation. And sustainable development just came as a byproduct, which is the case for every company who strives to do right by the people and community.
As we become more invested into providing a sustainable future and seeing the result of our work, we are starting to understand the consequential need to implement socially conscious measures through the very nature of the manufacturing industry. Hence, we pledge to continue our work in social innovation and unlock more Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as we progress.
ALIGNMENT TO UN GOALS
Through our initial pledge to become a more progressive company, we were pleasantly surprised to realise that our goals were on track with the UN’s sustainable development goals. Even though our initiatives were not created with the intention to align with the UN, we came to realise that sustainable social innovation is a natural component for every company who strives to do right by the people and community.
As we become more invested into providing a sustainable future and seeing the result of our work, we are starting to understand the consequential need to implement socially conscious measures through the very nature of the manufacturing industry. Hence, we pledge to continue our work in social innovation and become a company that achieves:
