Shutdown

LA Services has supported many shutdowns across refining, chemical and water processing facilities. Services include re-tubing, pad welding corroded components, exotic alloy overlaying on channel and covers, hydro testing and surface treatment.

Experiences gained over decades of working alongside major energy players at the shutdown coalface has exposed us to the realities of unexpected works and securing the resources, skills and contactor capability needed to deal with the dynamics of unplanned events within a planning shutdown.

Our experience and knowledge does not stop at the workshop, by engaging with our project team long before the shutdown begins we can help plan the work sequences, identify and procure contingency materials such as tubes and exotic materials and assemble the workforce needed to deliver across the expected scope.

Packinox Bundle Replacement Project

The refurbishment of Caltex’s Packinox heat exchanger required a bundle replacement to solve efficiency problems.

To do this the 80mm thick head needed to be cut off then re-welded into position.

With asset down time being costly an accelerated welding method was required to be able to complete the refurbishment within a planned refinery shutdown window.
